Embracing the Journeys of Life

About Irene

Irene Navis enjoys her retirement season of life by sharing her time with family and friends, preserving family memorabilia and history, reading historical fiction, and taking road trips and cruises. She taught junior high English and Math for four years, and then focused on raising her children for the next fifteen. For twenty-six years she worked as CFO and Regulatory VP at Janin Group Inc., a medical device company founded by her husband John. After his death, she preserved his letters and photos from Vietnam in an extensive private memoir as a legacy for the family. The mother of five and grandmother of thirteen resides in Oswego, IL.

She spends time volunteering at Cabrera Christian Classical Academy on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic. She is partnering with them as a Senior Ambassador in a school-wide geography project, “Where in the World is Odysseus?” as she travels around the world in 2026.
